WEEK: 27
MFW Rome to the Reformation
We have completed our human anatomy lessons and we are on to Astronomy!
Our last frontier before the end of the school year. Shocking! We actually have about 6 weeks of lessons left so I will be stretching a bit and adding some extras in that we aren't a part of the MFW curriculum.
These are the stars/planets that we have studied so far this month and one interesting factoid about each one. We also learned that the night sky in MARCH is best to see the planets, mercury, venus, mars, jupiter and saturn! We are headed to the observatory in a week to check out the telescopes.
SUN: 93 million miles away from us on earth. The center of our solar system.
Mercury : has no atmosphere and the sun looks bright white because there is nothing in the air to filter the light.
Venus is hot, hot, hot! Volcanoes are constantly erupting the atmosphere is mainly sulphuric acid
Earth: the most perfect of planets, created and meant for LIFE.
:: learning together each day :: lighting the fire of life-long discovery :: listening for God's plan :: nurturing our souls :: enjoying the blessings of our family
Our life in books
I love the path that God has us on.
We get to enjoy the lightbulb moments in educating our children and have quite a few of them ourselves.
We are starting Exploration to 1850's this school year, 2012-2013 using My Father's World curriculum.
In the past, we have enjoyed the 'MFW Adventures' and 'Exploring Countries and Cultures', and 'Creation to the Greeks',
Rome to the Reformation,
Exploration to the 1850's and NOW.........
Below is the week by week of lessons for this year if you'd like to start at the beginning.
There is also a handy LABELS area that you can peek through to find a specific lesson.
