Young Explorers Series is making science hands-on, God centered and enjoyable for all the ages I teach.
We are using the guidelines and some of the books for the MFW science but I have started a new one for the new year. The book is Apologia's Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology by Jeannie Fulbright amnd Brooke Ryan.
The first few lessons have been so fun and interactive that my students are asking for more.
We have cut out models amd built jello cells. We have the workbooks as well and they help with memorization and hold all the drawings and projects. The Personal Person project is helpful and engaging to illustrate the body systems and how they work together. Every other week, we add a system to the body cut-out, layering them on top of the other.
Here is the cell structure wheel that we made in the first week.
I love the creationist worldview most of all for we are fearfully amd wonderfully made!
:: learning together each day :: lighting the fire of life-long discovery :: listening for God's plan :: nurturing our souls :: enjoying the blessings of our family
Our life in books
I love the path that God has us on.
We get to enjoy the lightbulb moments in educating our children and have quite a few of them ourselves.
We are starting Exploration to 1850's this school year, 2012-2013 using My Father's World curriculum.
In the past, we have enjoyed the 'MFW Adventures' and 'Exploring Countries and Cultures', and 'Creation to the Greeks',
Rome to the Reformation,
Exploration to the 1850's and NOW.........
Below is the week by week of lessons for this year if you'd like to start at the beginning.
There is also a handy LABELS area that you can peek through to find a specific lesson.
