Our life in books

This is our eigth year of homeschooling and I finally got around to blogging about our adventures a few years ago.
I love the path that God has us on.
We get to enjoy the lightbulb moments in educating our children and have quite a few of them ourselves.

We are starting Exploration to 1850's this school year, 2012-2013 using My Father's World curriculum.
Rome to the Reformation,
Exploration to the 1850's and NOW.........

Below is the week by week of lessons for this year if you'd like to start at the beginning.
There is also a handy LABELS area that you can peek through to find a specific lesson.

Medieval Times Castle and Show

IN case you haven't experienced a Medieval Times show before ( like me), I will explain that this show is so authentic and makes you feel as though you are a part of a Medieval tournament. We were placed in the RED knight's section and cheered him on in all his battles.
This matinee was for schools so we had the extra explanation of all the weapons, the horses and the tournament traditions as well as a simpler meal ( we still had to eat with hands) to suit the smaller appetites. It was worth the trip with a few of our homeschool friends to make the period of time come alive.

The King welcomes us all to the castle and tournament
 Crowns for everyone

 Dig in Kiddos!

He waves to his adoring fans

 Medieval Armor display
The red knight ! We cheered but he still lost.
The whole gang 1st grade to 7th grade!
